Back from the Marriage

Hello everyone. Cristy and I have been...how should we say it..."not" blogging recently. Apparently, it is popular to use the "my Internet is out" and the "the summer has been so busy" excuses these days, so we're going to default to those excuses instead of making up our own. Even though those excuses aren't as good as the excuses I was going to make up, they seem to work nonetheless, so there. Ibid.

Let's see...where did we leave off...oh yeah...so Cristy and I got MARRIED! Does anyone remember? Cristy remembers smiling lots and really liked that everyone was paying attention to her and her beautiful dress, and I don't remember saying anything but "Yes." (I did say Yes, right? Good.) Everyone has seen the wedding pics by now--WONDERFUL. We all know what job Brady gets to do in Heaven ;) All family members from both sides seemed to coexist perfectly (even though my fam. was kind of quiet) and we even had a few Moreiras say they wanted to come back! Figure that. Also, Cesar still cannot pronounce Spokane correctly. Cristy and I tried, but to no avail.

The day of the Sealing, Cristy and I agreed that the Day got slower and slower and slower until the ceremony began. Da helped me get to the Temple with a.) my tux, b.) the rings, and c.) the marriage license. All hail Da! He also helped me from getting lost in the Temple (but isn't it a small design Temple Nathaniel?) and helped me dress myself. Literally.

I'm not sure what happened on Cristy's end, but I bet Mandy/Mom were big helpers too.

The Sealing itself took only five minutes, which has to be some kind of record. I acknowledge that I should probably remember more of what was said, but alas, I cannot. BUT, like I said, I do remember saying "Yes," so that's good. Cristy said Yes too.

The rest of the day was a complete blur for us. People would tell us that we kept kissing each other and we know from the pictures that we smiled an awful lot, but all we really remember was seeing how happy YOU GUYS were! Cristy and I determined (and I am speaking very liberally here when I say "I" here) that this wedding was going to be about our families, and it truly was. The wedding could/would not have taken place without everyone's help and generosity, and so it is fitting that we planned the event with all of you in mind. We hope you enjoyed it!

Well I still can't spell Jamaica. I don't even try anymore. Was that right? Oh well. Want to learn some Jamaican?

Wa Gwon? = What's going on?
Whey a u do wit it? = (They never told me, but it sounds more cool for saying hello)
Everything Criss = Everything's good (If you say it out loud it makes sense)
Medea = It's OK

We also learned when you shake someone's hand, if you are friends (or want to be) rub your thumb with theirs three times. I also learned by accident that if you want to be more than friends with them, rub their thumb more than three times. I do not advise this, as the person who taught me how to do this never told me this special rule and kind of followed us around the resort the next few days. Weird.

So that's about it for Jamaica. Very poor country. The resort was NOT poor. Here are some pictures...

All-Inclusive Resorts include sweet foods like Handmade Shrimp Ham Pizzas...hmm...

The other side of the resort, which was so big some people we talked to never knew there were water sports there until we told them!

Cristy by some palm trees--isn't she beautiful?

We ate lots of food and went on all the water rides! Did anyone know Cristy is an expert Wind Surfer?

So then we returned from the Honeymoon and, well, I don't know what to tell you. No one ever said there was so much stuff to do! We're still not done. There is carpet to shampoo and cell phone plans to merge family mission plans to create. Sheesh!

Mom came to visit and I was really sick with a fever. I laid on my bed from Thursday to Monday and didn't participate in any of their fun. I heard that Mom had a lot of fun walking around D.C. though!

OK so I know I said this last time, but this time we are going to plan a wedding and get married and go on a vacation and move into a house, so we will be better with the blog. Cristy and I actually want to blog for a few minutes at the conclusion of each of our FHEs, so Monday nights might be a good time to check in on us. We'll see how that works :)
